Windows/OSX cannot see the contents of a Samba shared folder on a Linux/Unix box if the Samba client does not have execute permissions on that folder.
If other words:
drw-rw-rw makes contents of the folder invisible
drwxrwxrwx makes contents of the folder visible

I am happy to say that I now have a dual boot 10.4.1 and XP ShuttleX box!
OS X is FAST. It is much more responsive on this box than XP. Even with XP’s effects turned off.
This box is a 1 and a half years old and it feels more responsive than most dual G5 boxes I’ve worked on.
I used deadmoo’s tiger-x86.tar.bz2 and dd it to a partition on using an Ubuntu Live CD. [Ubuntu plug because they are great]
Some notes:
1. ShuttleX onboard sound worked.
2. Onboard Network did not work. D-Link DGE-530T also did not work. Netgear GA311 works great!
3. Video card is an ATI 9000, it works with no tweaks. Does not seem to be Accelerated
4. TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552B Samsung OME 2.5xDL DVD+-R works perfectly. I love this drive.
5. Maxxuss-SSE3-to-SSE2_v0.4 works well for me [and seems to have fixed some video tearing]
6. I have yet to be able to shutdown without having to force the machine off, it hangs at the last screen. Or I am too impatient to let it finish.
7. I had to delete AppleTPMACPI.kext for the obvious reasons.
8. I fixed permissions without issue.
9. I can’t connet to other smb servers by name I have to use ip numbers.
10. I only have 512 MB of RAM, yet its reporting 1GB [odd]
I am using my new Tiger OSx86 to post this. I’m all tingly.

It is at once blissful lost in the groove; and blissful lost in a haze of drugs. This is the twin pull that makes us wish we were there, or at the least allows us to gasp in narcissistic recognition.

True, The Polyphonic Spree and The Flaming Lips are both psychotic. However The Flaming Lips are psychotic in a “we take lots of drugs to make our cleverness strange†way, but The Polyphonic Spree are psychotic in a “we take lots of drugs to die for god†way; and that’s just creepy and sad.
I wonder if Tim DeLaughter missed Wayne Coyne’s sarcasm and anger when Wayne sings jesus songs?
