On April 13, 2007 Meg Duguid and Catie Olson threw pies at each other in the name of science.

I Can Toss. Can You Smash? What a Splat! A Pie Research Project asks these questions:

“Although the cream pie seems to be the favorite of pieing moments, is it really the most effective comedy investment? Or is it the best for black and white film, where pieing had its media heyday?”

We will have to wait for their report to be published to get the answers, but for now there is some visual evidence on flickr.
