I got it from <a href=\"http:\/\/suckapants.com\/2006\/01\/im-still-waiting-to-be-dancehall.html\">SUCKA<\/a>, chronicler of the decadent life in Brooklyn. &#8220;Melo Do Tabaco&#8221; is the cdr promo this song comes from. It&#8217;s executive produced by Diplo, DJ Gorky, and Comunidade Ninjitsu. My copy came fedex from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.turntablelab.com\/\">Turntable Lab<\/a> the other day, and it has been in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.last.fm\/user\/carlwarnick\/\">constant rotation<\/a> ever since.  <\/p>\n<p>Funk De Esfiha is the last track on the EP. Built around a sample of the intro to &#8220;Summer Nights&#8221;; the John Travolta &#038; Olivia Newton John song from the Grease soundtrack. The girl MC [whom I am assuming is Ribanceira] fucking tears it up over top of this munchy piano, bass, and snare loop.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/bondedorole\" title=\"Bonde Do Role\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/static.flickr.com\/27\/94860288_b0561d3811_m.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"240\" height=\"180\" alt=\"Bonde Do Role\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lemon-Red hints at the summer heat that leaks back lyricly from the &#8220;Summer Nights&#8221; track into \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Funk De Esfiha\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. <a href=\"http:\/\/dawn0nwad.livejournal.com\/\">Dawn<\/a> sugested that Ribanceira was also copin moves from J.J. Fad&#8217;s &#8220;Supersonic&#8221; which I totally buy, in fact I would totally drop these two next to each other in a mix.<\/p>\n<p>There is something about how easy and clean the ideas are in this EP. Any 12 year old kid should be able to follow the formula used here, but the sublime way these completely known ideas are applied makes these tracks just click.
